“One of the most significant and memorable events in a man’s life is the moment he meets his soul mate. I remember when I met my soul mate who’s now my wife and the mother of my two children. I was at a flea market once looking for some antique goods when I came across this woman who was by far the most beautiful woman in the world I had ever seen. She was purchasing a lot of goods but one of them caught my eye, these very elegantly designed antique doorbells like the kind of doorbells you have in small cafes which rings when you open the door and it reminded me of the one we had in my parents’ café. She paid the money and took her items and I got back to browsing through the stuff when I noticed that she left the bell behind.
“I asked the shopkeeper about her but he didn’t know so I grabbed the doorbells and took off after her in the hopes that I’d find her and return the bell, and if I’m lucky, ask her out as well. As you can expect she was gone by the time I got out but I was persistent, I didn’t have her name just what she looked like and using that I started asking around but found nothing. I was just about to leave when I found her checking out some other goods at one shop. I ran after her before she could leave and caught up to her and gave her the doorbells back. She was a bit surprised but was ultimately thankful as I returned her doorbells. We got to talking and I ended up asking her out and since that day we’ve been together. Sure we’ve had our ups and downs but that’s life and we endured through all that and we’re still going strong. We had our anniversary a couple of weeks ago and she gave me the best surprise I could ever have hoped for.
“The parents sold the café some time ago. I liked that café a lot and would often spend weekends there helping out, the parents had moved on but I still missed the café and if it was possible I would have liked it back. On the anniversary as I was getting home I get a text with a location marker in it. I had prepared my present for her but it paled in comparison to what she did for me. As I arrived at the location I couldn’t believe my eyes as it was the same café my parents had. I opened the door and the bell rung but it sounded different and I looked up and saw the same bell that she bought all those years, the same one that she forgot and I ran after her to give it back. I was dumbfounded and then she came from behind the counter and gave me what I least expected, the ownership papers of the café, with my name on it. Doorbells are said to bring about good luck according to some people. I believe them because the first time they brought me to her, and the second the café.”
Cool story huh?
