Ferrari red is the color that always makes me smile. Ferrari red is perhaps my favorite color although I also like baby blue and aquamarine and of course, black. What is Ferrari red? Well, according to colorhexa.com, in a RGB color space, hex #ff2800 (also known as Ferrari red) is composed of 100% red, 15.7% green and 0% blue. In a CMYK color space, it is composed of 0% cyan, 84.3% magenta, 100% yellow and 0% black. Ferrari Red has a hue angle of 9.4 degrees, a saturation of 100% and a lightness of 50%. #ff2800 color hex could be obtained by blending #ff5000 with #ff0000. Closest websafe color is: #ff3300. That is all the nerdy stuff people like my girlfriend who is a graphic and instructional designer is into. For people like me, I just go with this:
Is it the ‘official’ color of Ferrari? Uhm, not really. Rosso corsa (#cc0000) is the red international motor racing color of cars entered by teams from Italy. Since the 1920s Italian race cars such as Ferrari have been painted in rosso corsa (“racing red”). This was the customary national racing color of Italy. National colors were mostly replaced in Formula One by commercial sponsor liveries in 1968, but unlike most other teams, Ferrari always kept the traditional red but the shade of the color varies. It varies due to several factors including the market presence of higher quality high definition television set.
Whatever shade the team is using it is #ff2800 or Ferrari red that I like the best.
I wish they made a Ferrari red Crayola crayon. That would be cool!
